Hyperoptic has recently announced a larger mid-contract price hike, with customers set to see their monthly bills rise by £4 starting in April 2026, up from the previous increase of £3. This change will impact both new and existing customers across all Hyperoptic broadband plans. Despite previously expressing opposition to annual price adjustments, Hyperoptic has joined several other telecom giants in implementing significant increases in recent months.
In contrast to their stance in 2023, where policy director James Fredrikson stated their aversion to mid-contract price rises, Hyperoptic’s decision reflects a shift in approach. Sky Mobile has also revealed a £1.50 monthly bill increase for the majority of its customers effective from February 14, 2026, marking the first price alteration for in-contract users in over seven years.
Furthermore, O2 has announced a £2.50 monthly rise for almost all mobile and SIM-only contract customers starting April 2026, up from the initially proposed £1.80 increase. Three mobile customers opting for data plans of 4GB or less will face a £1.80 monthly hike from April 2026, an increase of 80p compared to the current £1 increment.
Customers with data plans ranging from 4GB to 100GB will experience a £1.90 monthly increase, while those with over 100GB will see a £2.30 rise. In the broadband sector, Three customers are set for a £3.50 monthly increase from April 2026, while Vodafone mobile customers joining from November 12 can anticipate a £2.50 or £1.50 rise for Basics SIM plans.
Vodafone broadband subscribers will face a £3.50 monthly price surge. Existing Vodafone and Three customers on contracts will continue to pay their agreed-upon rates. However, individuals without contracts may be overpaying for their mobile and broadband services.
