A tragic incident unfolded as a man lost his life in a helicopter crash in the southwest area of Sydney.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 1:30 pm local time on Friday, October 3. First responders, including law enforcement and medical personnel, rushed to a parking lot on Birch Street, Bankstown, following reports of a helicopter accident.
Upon arrival, NSW Ambulance paramedics provided immediate care to the unidentified man involved in the crash. Despite their efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

NSW Police have released an official statement confirming the tragic incident: “A man has lost his life in a helicopter crash in the southwest area of Sydney. Around 1:30 pm today (Friday, October 3, 2025), emergency services were alerted to Birch Street, Bankstown, due to the helicopter crash.
“Despite receiving treatment from NSW Ambulance paramedics, the man passed away at the scene. His identity has not been disclosed.
“A 19-year-old male suffered severe injuries and was transported to Liverpool Hospital in critical condition.
“Authorities from Bankstown Police Area Command have secured the area as a crime scene, and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) will conduct an investigation into the crash’s cause. A detailed report will be prepared for the coroner’s review.
