Witnesses stated that the man, who had his hand severed, sought refuge in the pub as it was about to close. It was reported that an 18th birthday party had taken place at a nearby residence the previous night.

The injured man, whose hand was described as “hacked off,” is facing a potentially life-altering injury, while a 17-year-old girl sustained a minor hand injury in the same incident. Merseyside Police disclosed that dry blood was visible at the property where the attack occurred. An 18-year-old suspect has been apprehended on charges of serious bodily harm and wounding with intent.

The suspect remains in custody, while the victim is receiving medical care in the hospital. Law enforcement officers have maintained a strong presence at the scene over the weekend and into Monday, conducting forensic examinations. The pub was temporarily closed on Saturday for thorough cleaning due to the bloodstains present inside.

A spokesperson for The Stanley Arms confirmed that the victim sought help at the venue after closing hours, and emergency services were promptly contacted for assistance.
