A builder, Jason Brice, who abandoned a construction project for two disabled children, was discovered enjoying himself at a nightclub with the money from the job. The victims, Jaime and Noah Fagan, identified Brice partying and flaunting cash at a bingo event through photos, leading to his arrest and subsequent eight-month jail sentence.

Jaime expressed feeling deceived by Brice, as they hired him to build a loft conversion for their special needs sons but he disappeared, leaving their roof unfinished and leaking. The Fagans reported Brice to the authorities after spotting his lavish spending on social media, prompting Trading Standards to investigate and uncover two more victims. Brice was ultimately sentenced at Bristol Crown Court.

Despite claiming mental health and family issues, Brice’s actions left the Fagans and others with incomplete projects and significant financial losses. The Fagans had planned a wet room and a spare room for their children’s care needs, but Brice’s abandonment left the work unfinished. Jaime expressed frustration at Brice’s exploitation of their vulnerability for personal gain and highlighted the emotional and financial toll his actions had taken.

Brice, who admitted to violating Consumer Protection laws, showed no remorse upon receiving his prison sentence. The Fagans were left struggling with unfinished work and financial losses, as Brice callously disregarded the impact of his actions on vulnerable families.
