Paige Bueckers showcased a remarkable performance in the second half, contributing all 22 of her points as the Dallas Wings triumphed over Toronto with a 94-88 victory on Wednesday, extending the expansion Tempo’s losing streak to 10 games.

Bueckers, who struggled in the first half missing all seven of her shots, went a perfect 4 of 4 both from the field and the free-throw line in the third quarter, scoring 13 points. The win ended the Wings’ three-game losing streak, their longest of the season.

Arike Ogunbowale also made a significant impact with 21 points, achieving season-high figures in free throws and attempts, making 13 of 14 shots. Alanna Smith contributed 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Awak Kuier added 14 points to the scoreboard.

Despite the absence of key players like All-Star Jessica Shepard and rookie top pick Azzi Fudd, who were sidelined due to injuries, Dallas managed to secure the win. Shepard suffered an ankle injury in the previous game against Minnesota, while Fudd has been out for three games due to a knee injury.

Marina Mabrey led the charge for the Tempo with 23 points, 14 of which came in the fourth quarter, narrowing the gap to three points after trailing by 18 late in the third quarter.

Bueckers demonstrated her all-around skills with eight assists and three steals, one of which led to a crucial breakaway layup that extended the Wings’ lead to 10 points with just over three minutes left in the game. She finished the game shooting 7 of 11 from the field and made all seven of her free throws in the second half.

The Tempo made a late push to reduce the deficit to four points in the final minute, but Bueckers’ timely jumper restored the Wings’ lead to six before a charge was called on Isabelle Harrison.

Laura Juskaite contributed 18 points, and Kia Nurse added 16 for Toronto, who were missing key starters Brittney Sykes and Julie Allemand.
