Apple has unveiled its latest iPhone 17e model, boasting significant enhancements at an affordable price point. Priced at £599, this device features a speedy A19 processor, MagSafe charging, a durable build, and an impressive single-lens camera. Notably, it comes in £200 cheaper than Apple’s flagship iPhone model.
In a similar vein, Samsung has introduced its newest A57 and A37 smartphones, starting from just £399. While these Samsung devices may not match the performance or advanced charging capabilities of the iPhone 17e, they offer a spacious 6.7-inch screen with 120Hz technology. In comparison, the iPhone 17e only supports 60Hz, resulting in less fluid navigation through websites, emails, and games.
The Galaxy phones from Samsung also showcase features like large 5,000mAh batteries, triple lens cameras, and a design that is both water and dust resistant with a P68 rating.
For users interested in AI integration in their daily lives, Samsung’s latest models provide various smart features. The Galaxy A37 and A57 support Google’s Circle to Search for quick web searches and offer enhanced photo editing tools such as Object Eraser, Best Face, and Edit Suggestions for effortless photo refinements and sharing.
Moreover, Samsung has enhanced its Voice Transcription feature within the Voice Recorder app, allowing users to transcribe or translate call recordings and convert voicemail audio into text swiftly. This simplifies the process of revisiting important details from meetings, lectures, or conversations.
Samsung also ensures extended support for its devices, with the Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G set to receive up to six generations of Android OS and One UI updates, along with six years of security patches.
Both models will be available for purchase on Samsung.com starting April 10th, with the Galaxy A57 5G starting at £529 (256GB) and the Galaxy A37 5G priced from £399 (128GB). Color options include Awesome Navy, Awesome Grey, Awesome Icyblue, and Awesome Lilac for the Galaxy A57 5G, and Awesome Lavender, Awesome Charcoal, Awesome Greygreen, and Awesome White for the Galaxy A37 5G.
Annika Bizon, VP of Product and Marketing at Samsung Mobile Experience (MX) Division, emphasized the importance of democratizing AI technology, stating, “Getting AI into the hands of more people matters just as much as pushing the boundaries of what it can do.” She highlighted how the Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G leverage Samsung’s core capabilities alongside AI to deliver everyday performance and showcase the practical benefits of AI.
