Vicky Pattison, known for her role in Geordie Shore, recently shared candidly about her experience on the premiere of Strictly Come Dancing, calling it the “worst experience” of her life and admitting it made her feel self-conscious. Speaking on the Get A Grip podcast with former Strictly star Angela Scanlon, Vicky humorously described feeling like a “sausage in a skin” during the filming of the popular BBC show.
The reality TV personality is gearing up to join a star-studded cast for the upcoming season, which includes Dani Dyer, football icon Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Ross King from Good Morning Britain, and Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis.
Despite her excitement for the show, Vicky has been open about facing challenges, including a recent “mini-breakdown” after a family vacation and coping with a demanding schedule as she prepares for her role on the dance competition.
The highly-anticipated launch of Strictly Come Dancing is set to air on Saturday, September 20, at 6.40pm on BBC One and iPlayer. Vicky, however, didn’t shy away from expressing her discomfort, labeling the launch as the “worst experience” she has encountered.
Reflecting on her nerves, Vicky shared that she felt overwhelmed during the group performance, where she became acutely aware of her perceived inadequacies compared to other contestants. She also marveled at the professional dancers’ physique, jokingly questioning where the women fit their organs due to their slender forms.
Despite her initial apprehension, Vicky found comfort in the support of her fellow contestants. She recounted how Ross King and Dani Dyer provided reassurance and companionship during the filming, helping her navigate her nerves. Eventually, Vicky found her footing and admitted that once she started dancing, she thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
