An urban explorer recounts her most frightening experience during a visit to an eerie abandoned hospital. Jamie Marie, known for exploring over 100 spooky locations, opened up about her harrowing encounter at the Mansfield Training School in Connecticut, US. The asylum, operational from 1860 to 1993, now sits in decay, attracting ghost hunters who claim it is haunted.
In a video garnering 925,000 views and 152,000 likes, Jamie described feeling an unsettling energy that kept her away from the property for over a year. Venturing into the basement, which housed storage, an old electroshock room, and a crematorium, she was overcome by a chilling atmosphere, prompting her immediate exit.
The encounter left Jamie shaken, particularly by the basement’s horrors, leading her to swear off visiting asylums in the future. Despite her passion for exploring abandoned places driven by childhood interests in the paranormal, she now avoids such locations due to the overwhelming energies they exude.
Additionally, another urban explorer, Ben, shared a spine-tingling experience of spotting a ghostly figure in an abandoned school hallway. The school, left untouched since the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan in 2011, evoked a sense of frozen time with eerie remnants like school bags and homework.
Reflecting on his encounter, Ben recalled discovering a mysterious figure in his photos, resembling a spirit, which left him feeling uneasy. Though unfamiliar with supernatural occurrences, he noted the belief that spirits linger where they belong, adding to the unsettling aura of the deserted school.
