Despite advice from his compatriot and mentor Rory McIlroy to join the Saudi-backed tour earlier in the year, the 22-year-old opted to follow his own path.
Having previously excelled in the Race to Dubai and clinched a PGA Tour card, McKibbin concluded his initial LIV season in 17th place, amassing a significant $5,768,351. Presently ranked 109th globally, he faces the challenge of not being automatically eligible for next year’s Major tournaments.
