Leonard highlighted the expected heavy rainfall and potential tree fall hazards associated with the storm. Yellow weather warnings were already active for Scotland and Northern Ireland, with Storm Amy forecasted to bring strong winds and rain across the UK throughout the weekend.

As the first named storm of the season approaches from the Atlantic, schools in Northern Ireland have closed early, and ferry services from western Scotland have been canceled. Coastal areas face heavy rain and winds reaching up to 100mph on Friday, with adverse weather conditions anticipated to move southward later in the day. Yellow warnings cover all of the UK, including southern England, for Saturday.
