Gladiator and Olympic athlete Harry Aikines-Aryeetey is gearing up for a new challenge as he joins the dance floor of the popular TV show, Strictly Come Dancing. The renowned sprinter has made history by being the first celebrity to enroll in this year’s BBC dance competition.
Recognized as Nitro from his appearance on the revamped Gladiators series, Harry, 37, initially rose to fame as a champion sprinter after uncovering his talent while evading a barking dog. His journey to success began at a young age, winning gold in both the 100 and 200 meters at the World Youth Championships when he was just 17.
A prominent figure in Team GB, Harry was honored as the BBC Young Sports Personality Of The Year in 2005. His achievements extend to securing gold medals in the 4×100 meters relay at the European Championships and Commonwealth Games.
In addition to being a two-time Olympian and a World Bronze Medallist, Harry now serves as an online fitness coach, oversees a successful app, and remains dedicated to athletics. His estimated net worth is an impressive £3.9 million.
