Three men, Alan Entwistle, Stephen Findley, and William Riley, have been sentenced for their involvement in a sophisticated drug operation in Manchester. The unraveling of their £1million drug empire began when police discovered white powder, later identified as cocaine, concealed in a JD Sports bag during a raid at Findley’s residence in Wythenshawe.
Further investigations led to the seizure of additional drugs, including cocaine and amphetamines, along with drug paraphernalia such as scales, in the kitchen. Subsequently, Entwistle and Riley were observed behaving suspiciously in Northenden, leading to the discovery of eight bags containing brown powder, digital scales, and various drug adulterants used for product dilution.
Entwistle was found to be preparing drugs for distribution to dealers and safe houses, while Findley acted as the group’s warehouse manager, and Riley operated as a street dealer. The estimated value of the seized drugs, particularly heroin, indicated a potential profit exceeding £1million.
The trio was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court, with Entwistle receiving a 10-year and six-month prison term, Findley sentenced to four years and four months, and Riley jailed for five years. Detective Sergeant Richard McCorry praised the police’s efforts in dismantling the criminal operation and emphasized the commitment to combating drug-related crimes in communities.
The sentences handed down underscore the severity of the offenses and serve as a warning to those involved in drug supply activities. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious drug-related activities to the police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
