“Sky Mobile Announces £1.50 Monthly Bill Increase”

Published on

Millions of Sky Mobile subscribers are set to experience an increase in their monthly bills starting next month following a recent announcement. The majority of customers can expect a £1.50 per month hike, equating to an annual increase of £18. However, some individuals may see varying adjustments in their bills.

The revised charges will take effect on February 14, 2026, marking the first time Sky Mobile has raised prices for customers under contract in over seven years. Customers who are dissatisfied with the price adjustment and are within the minimum contract period can terminate their package without incurring an early termination fee.

Notably, the cost of the Sky Mobile social tariff, designed for individuals with low incomes, will remain unchanged. Sky attributed the price adjustment to rising wholesale network expenses and assured customers that they would be notified if their bills are affected starting today.

A spokesperson from Sky Mobile explained that the £1.50 monthly increase for most customers was necessary to maintain the expected quality, service, and value. They emphasized the careful consideration behind the decision, highlighting the absence of mid-contract price increases for more than seven years. The adjustment reflects industry-wide cost pressures while enabling continued investments in the network and customer experience.

In related developments, O2 announced a £2.50 per month increase for nearly all mobile and SIM-only contract subscribers starting in April 2026, surpassing the initially planned £1.80 raise. Three mobile customers opting for data plans of 4GB or less will face a £1.80 monthly increase from April 2026, up by 80p from the current £1 rise.

Subscribers with data plans ranging from 4GB to 100GB will see a £1.90 monthly rise, while those with over 100GB will experience a £2.30 increase. Three broadband users can anticipate a monthly bill surge of £3.50 from April 2026. Vodafone mobile customers who sign up after November 12 will witness a £2.50 monthly increase, with Basics SIM plan subscribers facing a £1.50 rise. Vodafone broadband users are also in line for a £3.50 monthly price escalation.

Existing Vodafone or Three broadband and mobile contract holders will witness adjustments based on their agreed-upon terms.
