The fan tumbled from the upper concourse, striking another individual and descending 25 rows behind the Penguins’ bench. Witnesses initially mistook the situation for a joke until they witnessed the fan missing steps and falling.

The injured person was swiftly taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the fall, resulting in the closure of ten seats in Section 234 of the arena.

In a statement, the NHL franchise confirmed the incident, stating that an adult male fell from the upper concourse to the lower bowl and was promptly attended to by Pittsburgh EMS and arena personnel before being transported to a local hospital. The Pittsburgh Penguins and OVG Management Group are closely monitoring the situation, expressing their concern for the individual and their family.

During the game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the St. Louis Blues that evening, Sidney Crosby, the Penguins’ captain, expressed his thoughts and prayers for the injured fan.
