Nicola Golen’s goal in the second minute of extra time secured a 2-2 draw for Ottawa Rapid against AFC Toronto at TD Place on Sunday. Golen’s equalizer in the 92nd minute helped the league-leading Rapid earn one point in the standings. Melanie Forbes also contributed a goal for Ottawa (10-2-3) in the 13th minute.
Sarah Stratigakis and Shelina Zadorsky found the net for third-place Toronto (7-4-4) in response. The match saw both teams reduced to ten players in the 63rd minute following red cards shown to Choo Hyojoo of the Rapid and Cloey Uddenberg of AFC Toronto.
On the same day, it was announced that Ottawa’s TD Place would host the upcoming Northern Super League final on Nov. 14.
