Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” has recently gotten married to music industry executive Allison Hsu. Their wedding took place over the weekend, as confirmed by Liu’s publicist to CBC News on Tuesday. The celebrations were initially reported by TMZ to have occurred in France.
Liu and Hsu publicly announced their engagement on social media during a trip to Paris in May 2025. They have been sharing updates about their relationship on various platforms, with Liu also discussing their bond in interviews. In one instance, Liu expressed his feelings of support and love towards Hsu in an interview with People magazine in 2023.
Originally from China and raised in Toronto, Liu is preparing to reprise his role as Shang-Chi in the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday.” His portrayal of the Chinese superhero has garnered him international recognition, following his success on the Canadian show “Kim’s Convenience.” Liu has also been involved in various projects, including a role in the popular movie “Barbie,” voice acting in the animated film “In Your Dreams,” and starring in the spy thriller series “The Copenhagen Test.” Additionally, he returned to his theater roots with a performance in the Tony-winning comedy “Oh, Mary!” earlier this year, marking his Broadway debut.
