Before turning 10 years old, Logan Taylor was already towering over his peers on the soccer field at over six feet tall. Hailing from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Taylor stood out due to his size, often receiving fouls for his physical play. Transitioning to football at the urging of a local coach, Taylor found his passion for the sport and embraced the team dynamics and physicality it offered.
Now, at 24 years old, the six-foot-seven-inch, 312-pound offensive lineman is pursuing his NFL dream in Los Angeles with the Chargers. Following his selection in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, Taylor became the highest-drafted Nova Scotian native in NFL history.
Taylor’s journey to the NFL required him to move away from his small South Shore hometown at the age of 14, leading him through various locations to pursue his football aspirations. Despite Nova Scotia’s renowned hockey legacy, Taylor is among the few born-and-raised Nova Scotians to play in the NFL regular season.
Encouraged by his “Timberlea parents,” Kathy and Brian Mason, Taylor persevered through challenges and doubts to reach his current NFL status. Described as a gentle giant, Taylor’s humility and work ethic have shaped his success in the sport.
Reflecting on his journey, Taylor emphasizes the need for dedication and perseverance, urging aspiring athletes to seize every opportunity and stay committed to their goals. As he navigates his rookie season with the Chargers, Taylor remains focused on proving his worth and securing a spot on the active roster.
Living in Los Angeles, Taylor embraces the city’s amenities while missing his countryside pursuits. Despite the glamour of L.A., Taylor remains grounded in his commitment to his NFL career, prioritizing hard work and determination in his pursuit of success on the field.
