“NBA Denies Allegations in Clippers Owner Investigation”

Published on

The NBA has rejected allegations presented in an ESPN report regarding the league’s examination of Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer. According to ESPN’s article released on Monday, three sources claimed that the NBA did not uncover any proof indicating that Ballmer used team sponsors to compensate Kawhi Leonard in a way that would bypass the salary cap.

The report suggested that the NBA is investigating whether the Clippers’ introduction of Leonard to team sponsors breaches the league’s regulations against circumventing the salary cap. NBA spokesperson Mike Bass disputed the claims outlined in the ESPN article, stating that it contains numerous inaccuracies. Bass assured that the findings of the NBA’s inquiry will be disclosed upon its conclusion.

A trade deal between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Toronto Raptors, which includes Leonard, has been halted pending the league’s determination of potential penalties.
