On the other hand, McIntosh faced disappointment after failing to qualify for the A final in the women’s 400m freestyle event despite winning the B final. The 19-year-old expressed frustration and took responsibility for her misjudgment during the morning heats.

Ruck shared her excitement about her achievements, stating that she felt well-rested and focused on trusting her body’s abilities. McIntosh, on the other hand, vowed to learn from her mistakes and make adjustments for future competitions.

In another event, Canadians Blake Tierney and Ethan Ekk clinched silver and bronze, respectively, in the men’s 200m backstroke. Tierney expressed gratitude for his training paying off and acknowledged the significance of his podium finish.

Ruck continued her success by leading the Canadian team to a bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay event alongside her teammates. The U.S. team secured the gold in the women’s relay, while the Australian team took silver.

While McIntosh reflects on her disappointing performance, she remains focused on the upcoming 200m IM event, where she aims to showcase her skills as the reigning world-record holder and champion.
