The group managing Revolution bars has announced a deadline for bids next week as it seeks a buyer. The Revel Collective, operating 62 venues under various brands, including Revolution and Revolucion de Cuba, initiated the sale process in October 2025 due to declining sales.
According to Sky News, potential bidders must submit offers by January 9, with FTI Consulting overseeing the sale proceedings. Neos Hospitality has shown interest in acquiring some sites of The Revel Collective, but it is uncertain if they will make a bid.
The company, previously known as Revolution Bars, rebranded as The Revel Collective in 2024. Following a formal sales process in April 2024, which was halted after rejecting an offer from Nightcap, the business closed approximately 36 sites as part of a restructuring plan approved by the High Court.
In October 2025, company officials cited challenging economic conditions and government interventions as factors hindering their progress post-restructuring. Revenue dropped by 7.4%, reaching £26.3 million in the three months up to September, primarily due to a 10.5% decline in like-for-like bar sales.
Cost-of-living pressures on younger customers and increased debts were also highlighted as concerns. Luke Johnson, former Pizza Express chairman, took over as chairman of The Revel Collective in September, expressing interest in strategic acquisitions to enhance the company’s market position.
