Prince Harry has strongly denied a report that suggested he was taken aback by a formal meeting with King Charles, calling the claim “completely untrue.” During a 55-minute encounter at Clarence House earlier this month, the Duke of Sussex presented his father with a framed photograph. This marked their first meeting since February 2024.
Since relocating to the United States, Harry’s relationship with other members of the Royal Family has been strained. He refuted a report from The Sun that indicated he was surprised by the formal nature of the meeting with the King. The meeting was described as formal, with Harry joking that he felt like an official visitor.
A spokesperson for Prince Harry dismissed the claims, stating that the reported views attributed to him were fabricated, likely by sources aiming to disrupt any reconciliation between him and his father. The spokesperson confirmed that gifts were exchanged, including a framed photograph that did not feature the Duke and Duchess.
In response, a representative from The Sun acknowledged the gift exchange, including a family photograph, and updated their article to include Harry’s denial. During the meeting, Harry and Charles exchanged gifts and cheek kisses. Harry presented his father with the framed photo, while Charles gave Harry a birthday gift ahead of his 41st birthday.
Although Harry had not seen his children Archie and Lilibet since June 2022 due to safety concerns about flying to the UK, he expressed his love for the country in a recent interview. Despite speculation about a potential return to royal duties, there seems to be no immediate plan for Harry to resume a hybrid role within the Royal Family.
