An investigation into a homicide has been initiated following the death of a man in a hospital subsequent to a disturbance in a village during the early morning hours.
South Wales Police disclosed that in the recent event in Rhydyfelin just before 1am, three males in their twenties sustained injuries and were transported to a medical facility. A communication stated: “Subsequent to the incident, one of the men has passed away, while the remaining two are still receiving medical attention.”
A 30-year-old male from Rhydyfelin has been apprehended under suspicion of murder and attempted murder regarding the occurrence. Moreover, a 22-year-old male from Tonteg has also been detained on suspicion of murder. Additionally, a 20-year-old female from Penygraig has been taken into custody on suspicion of intentional harm. All three individuals are currently under police custody as investigations persist.
Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to contact them at 101. Local representative Alex Davies Jones mentioned: “I am informed about the grave incident that transpired overnight in Rhydyfelin.
“I have maintained close communication with law enforcement and will continue to stay informed as the situation evolves. If you have any concerns or information that could be beneficial, be assured that assistance is available, and you are encouraged to come forward.
“During times like these, the resilience of our community hinges on our capacity to support each other. I appeal for everyone to exercise caution in disseminating unverified details or misinformation, as this could cause further distress.

Detective Superintendent Paul Raikes stated: “I want to assure the community that we are swiftly progressing with the investigation. Residents may notice an escalated police presence in the vicinity, and a cordon has been established on Masefield Way, specifically between the intersections of Poets Close and Shakespeare Rise.
A report from South Wales Police indicated: “In the early hours of Tuesday, September 23, just before 00:40am, South Wales Police was alerted about a disturbance on Poets Close, Rhydyfelin. During the course of this incident, three males in their twenties sustained injuries and were taken to a medical facility. Regrettably, one of the men has succumbed to his injuries, while the other two are still hospitalized.
“A 30-year-old male from Rhydyfelin has been detained on suspicion of murder and attempted murder in connection to the incident. Additionally, a 22-year-old male from Tonteg has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Further, a 20-year-old female from Penygraig has been apprehended on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent. The trio remains in police custody as the investigative process unfolds. “
