Citroen and Vauxhall have issued a recall for certain models, including the C3, C3 Aircross, and Frontera, due to a potential brake pedal detachment issue. Citroen has implemented a ‘stop-drive’ measure for customers who have received the latest C3 and C3 Aircross models.

Customers awaiting delivery of new Vauxhall Fronteras are informed that the vehicles are undergoing inspections before being dispatched. The recall was initiated upon the discovery that right-hand-drive versions of Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross in the UK may have brake pedal boxes that do not meet the required specifications, posing a braking risk.

This recall is the third ‘stop-drive’ action by the French automaker this year, following previous recalls related to faulty airbag units in specific models like C3, C4, DS3, DS4, and DS5.

A spokesperson for Citroen emphasized the company’s commitment to customer safety, stating that certain Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross models may have a pedal box assembly issue that could compromise brake functionality. Affected customers will receive replacement vehicles during the inspection and rectification process.

Stellantis, the parent company, reaffirmed its dedication to promptly and transparently addressing the situation. Customers with concerns are encouraged to contact customer services or their local retailer. Vauxhall customers are unaffected as deliveries have not commenced, and necessary checks and rectifications are being carried out.
