Benjamin Satterley, a prominent British professional wrestler known as Pac in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), passed away at the age of 40. AEW confirmed Satterley’s death via their social media platforms on Sunday evening. The cause of his death has not been disclosed. Satterley showcased his skills in a match against Andrade el Idolo in Chicago the night before his passing.
Hailing from Newcastle, England, Satterley kicked off his wrestling journey in 2004 in the U.K. He gained recognition in independent wrestling circuits globally, including Japan and Mexico, for his dynamic aerial maneuvers and physical prowess. Starting his training at 18, Satterley entered the wrestling world due to his aunt’s influence, a WWF enthusiast.
Between 2012 and 2018, Satterley competed in World Wrestling Entertainment as Adrian Neville, making a mark in the NXT developmental program and later the cruiserweight division. In 2019, he joined AEW, where he engaged in matches with the company’s top talents and secured various titles, including the inaugural international championship.
Known for his finishing move, the black arrow, Satterley was dubbed “The man that gravity forgot” for his acrobatic prowess. Often portraying a villainous character named “The Bastard,” he occasionally showcased a lighter side in comedic matchups, such as his encounter with Orange Cassidy in 2020.
While Satterley maintained a private life outside the ring, tributes from colleagues poured in following his demise, highlighting his talent, humility, and dedication. AEW CEO Tony Khan and fellow wrestlers praised Satterley’s excellence and character. Satterley’s passing follows the recent death of another AEW wrestler, Andy Williams, known as The Butcher, adding to the wrestling community’s sorrow.
Satterley’s impact on and off the wrestling stage will be remembered by fans and peers alike, commemorating a talented individual who left a lasting legacy in the wrestling world.
