A woman who embraced the lifestyle of her Traveller husband revealed that she now always accompanies him whenever she goes out. Holly Joyce, 27, shared that after marrying Dougie, 34, who upholds traditional family values, she abides by his decisions.

Transitioning from her previous life, Holly joined one of the most prominent Traveller families in Britain. The couple’s relationship began when they connected online in September 2019, leading to a meeting in March 2020 in a Manchester restaurant. Dougie swiftly declared his intention to marry Holly within hours of meeting her.

While Dougie had relationships with non-Traveller women in the past, Holly had never been romantically involved with a Traveller before meeting him. Although Dougie supports Holly’s career aspirations, she is primarily expected to manage household responsibilities and respect her husband’s authority.

Holly, a mother of two from Salford in Manchester, described her journey as a whirlwind turned fairy-tale. Emphasizing the importance of respecting her husband’s decisions, she acknowledged that she prefers being by his side, especially at social events.

The couple’s courtship culminated in a lavish wedding in July 2022, following their engagement at their daughter’s gender reveal party in December 2020. The opulent ceremony, costing over £60k (€70k), featured luxury elements such as Rolls Royce cars, a designer gown, and a grand celebration at Gorton Monastery, Manchester.

Despite Dougie’s career as a bare-knuckle fighter, Holly highlighted his dedication to family and his respectful treatment of her. She praised his relationship with his mother and his caring nature towards their family, which ultimately won over her initial skeptics.
