“Uncle of Murdered Teen May Be Released Without Revealing Body Location”

Published on

Stuart Campbell, the uncle responsible for the tragic death of Danielle Jones, may potentially be released in early 2026 without disclosing the location of her body. Convicted in 2002 for the murder of the 15-year-old girl, Campbell, now 67, maintains his innocence despite numerous search efforts failing to find Danielle’s remains. The Parole Board has scheduled a hearing for Campbell on January 16, 2026.

There is a possibility that Campbell could be recommended for release or transfer to a low-security open prison by the Parole Board. Danielle was last seen on June 18, 2001, heading to a bus stop near her residence in East Tilbury, Essex. Campbell, who was married to Debbie, Danielle’s aunt, abducted her by forcing her into a blue Transit van.

Linda, Danielle’s mother, has expressed her anguish over Campbell potentially being set free without revealing crucial information about her daughter’s whereabouts. She highlighted the ongoing emotional turmoil her family has endured since Danielle’s disappearance, stating that the uncertainty has been excruciating and has significantly impacted their lives.

According to a Parole Board spokesperson, an oral hearing has been arranged to review Campbell’s parole in 2026, emphasizing the assessment of potential risks to the public upon his release. Despite two previous parole denials, Campbell’s third application has sparked renewed pleas from Danielle’s parents to disclose the location of their daughter’s remains for closure.

Alix Sharkey, Campbell’s brother and author of “My Brother the Killer,” firmly believes that Campbell should not be released until he reveals what happened to Danielle. He urged Campbell to show remorse and act humanely by providing closure to Danielle’s grieving family. The case, governed by Helen’s Law, underscores the significance of considering non-disclosure during parole reviews.

The family’s enduring pain and the quest for closure continue as the Parole Board prepares to assess Campbell’s potential release, with the hope that justice will prevail for Danielle and her loved ones.
