An interactive map has unveiled the extensive impact of Pizza Hut closures across UK high streets, with one area set to lose seven out of its nine restaurants. Administrators have disclosed the closure locations of 68 Pizza Hut establishments as the renowned dining chain grapples with financial challenges. In a restructuring move, the company will also shutter 11 delivery sites, jeopardizing the jobs of 1,210 employees.

Following the closure program, only 64 Pizza Hut restaurants will remain operational in the UK. The Greater Manchester region is significantly affected, with seven out of nine existing Pizza Hut locations slated for closure, leaving only the outlets at the Trafford Centre and Manchester city center.

Similarly, in Greater London, nine Pizza Hut branches in outer boroughs will cease operations, leaving just three in central London and one at the Bluewater shopping center. Conversely, the East Midlands has been spared from the closure initiative, with Pizza Hut restaurants in Lincoln, Nottingham, Mansfield, Thurmaston, and Leicester retaining their operations.

DC London Pie, the entity managing Pizza Hut’s dine-in restaurants in the UK under a franchise agreement, has appointed administrators from FTI, a corporate finance firm. Yum! Brands, the American hospitality conglomerate that owns Pizza Hut globally, has acquired the UK restaurant operation through a pre-pack administration deal, safeguarding 64 sites.

In a previous transaction in January 2025, Directional Capital took control of 139 Pizza Hut restaurants, rescuing 3,000 jobs after the collapse of its former operator, Heart with Smart Limited, which had substantial debts to investor Pricoa Capital. DC London Pie, established by Directional Capital to oversee Pizza Hut operations in the UK, traces its roots back to the opening of the first Pizza Hut in the UK in 1973 in Islington, London. At its peak, the chain operated over 260 restaurants nationwide, employing 10,000 staff.

Pizza Hut has affirmed its commitment to maintaining a presence across the UK through a blend of company-owned and franchise restaurants. This includes 351 delivery Huts operating across the UK, Northern Ireland, and Ireland, in addition to the 64 dine-in sites retained through the recent acquisition deal.
