After landing, the couple was spotted holding hands as they walked to the White House, showing a different demeanor from their interaction on Marine One. President Trump accused the UN of “triple sabotage” after an escalator incident at the UN building, where the escalator reportedly stopped working as they boarded it.

Addressing the situation at the UN, Trump emphasized the potential danger and claimed they could have been injured due to the malfunctioning escalator. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt mentioned that UN staff had joked about the escalator issue, which Trump condemned as sabotage, suggesting those responsible should face consequences.

The couple, married since 2005 and parents to Barron Trump, has faced public scrutiny over their relationship dynamics. Melania has been seen rejecting her husband’s gestures and wearing oversized hats to prevent him from kissing her. In a separate incident, Trump offered marriage advice to French President Macron after footage showed Macron’s wife seemingly slapping him during a heated argument.

When questioned about the incident, Trump advised keeping doors closed and expressed his familiarity with Macron, stating they were both good people despite the incident. The US President emphasized that he knew Macron well and believed everything was fine between them.
