Three individuals tragically lost their lives in separate road accidents in Quebec overnight. The first incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. when emergency services responded to a vehicle that had veered off Route 132 East near Chemin Mistral in Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse, as reported by a press release from Sûreté du Québec. The driver, a 35-year-old man who was alone in the vehicle, seemed to have lost control of the car for unknown reasons and was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was temporarily closed but reopened by 4:45 a.m.
In another incident around 3:20 a.m., emergency services were called to a single-vehicle accident on Route 138 near Franquelin. The SQ stated that the driver lost control of the vehicle for unspecified reasons, leading to the vehicle carrying four occupants. One individual succumbed to injuries at the hospital, while the remaining three are in critical condition. Part of the road was closed in the vicinity of the accident.
The third accident took place at approximately 6 a.m. on Route 138 in Saint-Tite-des-Caps. The driver of the eastbound vehicle, for reasons yet to be determined, veered out of their lane, causing the car to roll multiple times. A man and a woman in their 30s were inside the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. Tragically, the 37-year-old woman passed away at the hospital, while the man remains in critical condition according to the SQ.
