The authorities were called to the scene shortly after 2:15 a.m. NT the following morning near Gullbridge, also recognized as Gull Pond Bridge, located between Badger and South Brook. Both vehicles were engulfed in flames upon police arrival.
The deceased individual, a 47-year-old man traveling east, was pronounced dead at the crash site. The driver of the westbound tractor-trailer sustained severe injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment, where they remain under medical supervision. The police operation necessitated the closure of a segment of the Trans-Canada Highway between Badger and South Brook for several hours on Tuesday. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the accident.
