At the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday, the gritty medical drama “The Pitt” starring Noah Wyle won top honors, including best drama series and best lead actor. The show led the nominations with 25 nods. Apple TV’s comedy-horror series “Widow’s Bay” was a standout, winning best comedy series and multiple other awards, securing a total of 14 Emmys from 19 nominations. Another Apple TV hit, the post-apocalyptic series “Pluribus,” also received accolades, while HBO’s dark comedy “DTF St. Louis” took home several trophies, including best limited series.
Actor and philanthropist Michael J. Fox, 65, was honored with the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award for his contributions to Parkinson’s disease research. Mariska Hargitay, star of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” hosted the event after winning Emmys at the Creative Arts Emmys held earlier.
