Jenna Ortega, Selena Gomez, and Hunter Schafer stole the spotlight at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards held in downtown Los Angeles. The Peacock Theatre saw stars from television gather to witness Seth Rogan’s Apple+ series, The Studio, win four awards, while Owen Cooper, aged 15, made history as the youngest male winner at the Emmy Awards for his role in the Netflix mini-series Adolescence.
Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in Euphoria, presented Cooper with his award, where he expressed his gratitude, saying, “Honestly, when I started drama classes a few years ago, I never imagined being in the United States, let alone here. But tonight proves that with dedication and stepping out of your comfort zone, anything is achievable in life.”
Cooper’s achievement was celebrated, with co-stars Erin Doherty winning best supporting actress in a limited series, dedicating her win to her older sister, and Stephen Graham receiving the lead actor award in a limited series.
Graham, reflecting on his journey, shared, “I’m just a mixed-race kid from a block of flats in a place called Kirkby. So, for me to be here today in front of my peers and to be acknowledged by you is the utmost humbling thing I could ever imagine in my life, and it shows you that any dream is possible.”
Selena Gomez, like Sydney, captivated in a striking red ensemble at the Emmys, posing for photos before joining the event. The night was filled with memorable moments as Owen Cooper and Erin Doherty each took home well-deserved accolades.
