The sibling of a man convicted of rape has revealed disturbing details about him following his imprisonment alongside his noble partner for the accidental death of their infant daughter.

Mark Gordon, aged 51, and Constance Marten, aged 38, engaged in a tumultuous relationship akin to “Romeo and Juliet,” ultimately fleeing authorities to conceal their newborn child, Victoria, from social services. Tragically, the baby passed away, likely due to hypothermia. Subsequently, Gordon and Marten received 14-year prison terms for manslaughter due to severe negligence.

Following their sentencing at the Old Bailey in London, Gordon’s half-sister Karen Satchell, aged 54, disclosed that he aspired to start anew following his previous incarceration, even having another child before disappearing with Marten. Karen shared that Gordon’s family was unaware of Constance’s existence, the gender of their children, or their struggles with child welfare services.

Gordon encountered Marten at an aromatic shop in Tottenham, north London, in 2014, post his initial prison sentence. Throughout this period, Gordon’s family regularly visited him, and he acquired the moniker “The Preacher” among fellow inmates, believed to be because of his frequent biblical references.

Describing her brother, Karen, residing in north London, remarked, “He presents an intimidating facade but is rather reserved once you get to know him. I believe that’s his coping mechanism.”

Initially concealing his first child, a daughter, from his family until she turned two, Gordon later parted ways with the child’s mother under undisclosed circumstances before meeting Marten. Subsequently, Karen observed a heightened sense of paranoia in him.

“I wanted to support him like any caring sister would. However, he declined, insisting that he was fine and didn’t require assistance. They traveled extensively. I questioned how he managed to visit all those places,” Karen added, having never met Marten even after her union with Gordon in an unrecognized ceremony in Peru.

In an attempt to evade Marten’s family and private investigators, the couple resided in a tent in Wales and welcomed their first child in 2017, all while Gordon maintained a secretive stance with his family.
