Prince William offered words of encouragement to the schoolmates of three young girls who tragically lost their lives in the Southport incident, urging them to stay strong, happy, and compassionate. Alongside the Princess of Wales, the royal couple visited schools where Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe, and Alice Da Silva Aguiar had attended.

At Churchtown Primary School, where Bebe and Alice were students, William and Kate unveiled a newly opened playground dedicated to the girls. The funds for this playground were raised, in part, through donations from the royal couple. Additionally, they supported the fundraising endeavors of Elsie’s father, David, and Alice’s father, Sergio, who ran the London Marathon in memory of their daughters.

Addressing the school community, Prince William acknowledged the difficulty in comprehending the tragic events of the past year and praised the community for coming together to create a positive space for the students. He emphasized the resilience and unity displayed in the face of adversity.

The couple also met with the parents of the girls and spent time with the students who had created meaningful artwork in tribute to their friends. Kate commended the children for their expressive and powerful artwork, noting the unique and emotional depth captured in their creations.
