Newly released emails have shed light on the relationship between convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and former Prince Andrew, with a royal biographer stating that these emails are damning evidence. Prince Andrew faced the stripping of his royal titles by King Charles due to his association with Epstein, and Buckingham Palace expressed support for abuse survivors.
In response to the public outcry over his ties to Epstein, Prince Andrew has agreed to surrender his long-standing residence at Royal Lodge, where he paid a nominal rent to the Crown Estate for over two decades. The scandal resurfaced as allegations of sexual assault by Andrew’s accuser, Virginia Giuffre, were set to be publicized in her memoir.
Reports suggest that Prince Andrew has been offered a luxurious residence in Abu Dhabi if he chooses to leave the UK, following the footsteps of King Juan Carlos I of Spain. Despite this, Andrew is reportedly relocating to a property on King Charles’s estate in Norfolk.
Andrew Lownie, known for his biography of Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, stated that the new emails expose Andrew’s falsehoods regarding his relationship with Epstein. Contrary to Andrew’s claim of cutting ties with Epstein in 2010, the emails reveal ongoing contact between the two, including Epstein confirming a photo with Giuffre.
The biographer emphasized that the recent revelations further implicate Prince Andrew and suggested that his passport should be surrendered to prevent potential flight risks. Reports indicate that an offer of a new home in Abu Dhabi has been extended to Andrew by the ruler Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in recognition of his past role as a trade envoy to the UK.
Buckingham Palace has been approached for comment on the matter. As the royal family resumes their duties, the Mirror has launched a Royal WhatsApp community for the latest updates on the UK’s prominent family. Community members will receive exclusive news and offers, with the option to exit the group at any time.
