Dominating much of the season, McLaren entered the Singapore Grand Prix with a significant 333-point lead over Mercedes, needing just 13 points to clinch the title. The team sealed the victory with Lando Norris finishing third and Oscar Piastri fourth, accumulating a total of 27 points to make it mathematically impossible for Mercedes to catch up.

During the Grand Prix, Norris outperformed his teammate Piastri, securing the necessary points for McLaren’s triumph. Despite George Russell’s win and Kimi Antonelli’s strong performance, McLaren’s consistent performance throughout the season led them to their 10th constructors’ championship in F1 history, surpassing Williams and trailing behind Ferrari, the most successful team in the World Championship era with 17 titles.

McLaren, as defending champions from the 2024 season, claimed their latest victory relatively early in the 2025 campaign. Team principal Andrea Stella expressed the team’s focus on maximizing their competitive potential and staying concentrated throughout the season. Looking ahead, McLaren aims to challenge the all-time points record set by Red Bull in 2023, although they prioritize taking each race as it comes rather than fixating on records.
