A man who had previously suffered three heart attacks was viciously assaulted during a “health walk” when he was kicked in the face in a Morrison’s car park. The incident took place in Gosport, Hampshire, where Chris Mcnamara was targeted by an individual who resembled “Bruce Lee,” wearing dark clothing and sandals. Initially, the 58-year-old man was approached by the assailant, who uttered something incomprehensible, leading Chris to request a repeat of the statement. Subsequently, the situation escalated, resulting in the attacker kicking Chris in the face multiple times in a manner reminiscent of karate, leaving his right eye visibly bruised and swollen.
Following the assault, Chris contacted Hampshire Police, who promptly escorted him to Gosport War Memorial Hospital for a thorough examination of his injuries before his discharge. Recounting the harrowing experience, Chris expressed feeling “scared for his life” and has decided to share his story to aid the ongoing investigation by Hampshire Police.
Describing the assailant as tall, slim, with a shaven head, dressed in dark attire and flip flops, Chris detailed how the attacker continued to pursue him even after the initial assault, inflicting further facial bruising and internal rib pain. Seeking refuge at a nearby store while waiting for emergency services, Chris witnessed his jumper becoming stained with blood, emphasizing the severity of the attack.
Chris’s sister, Sarah Armitage, expressed shock and anger at the extent of her brother’s injuries, condemning the unprovoked assault on a vulnerable individual. She emphasized Chris’s peaceful nature and the unjustifiable brutality of the attack, urging for the perpetrator to face consequences for his actions.
Hampshire Police has affirmed that investigations are ongoing into the unprovoked assault and is appealing for witnesses to come forward with any relevant information. The police have released a description of the suspected assailant, a white male aged between 18 and 24, tall, with a shaven head, wearing a navy-blue t-shirt, black shorts, and blue sandals with socks. Witnesses or individuals with pertinent information are encouraged to contact the authorities.
