A man consumed cocaine and drank 10 pints before attacking a bouncer during a night out to celebrate his upcoming parenthood. Luke Allman received a nine-year jail sentence for the incident that occurred on February 23. Allman caused chaos at a bar near Stockport station in Greater Manchester by making threats and shouting profanities. The situation escalated when Allman refused to leave a restricted area, leading to a physical altercation where he and two security personnel sustained injuries.
Security footage captured Allman leaving the scene but returning shortly after with a small knife. Despite claiming the blade was not large, he attempted to gain entry back into the bar and lunged at a bouncer, ultimately stabbing a different doorman who suffered severe injuries requiring emergency surgery.
The violent episode resulted in a struggle to disarm Allman involving four security staff members. One staff member sustained head injuries and a wounded thumb during the scuffle. Allman, under the influence of alcohol and drugs, later admitted to police that he felt mistreated by the security personnel.
The stabbed bouncer expressed fear for his life after the attack, stating that the incident had left a lasting impact, making him anxious and hesitant to return to his job due to safety concerns. A female staff member also shared her traumatic experience, mentioning her hospitalization for two weeks due to the emotional distress caused by the unnecessary violence.
Allman pleaded guilty to several charges, including causing grievous bodily harm, assault, and possession of a weapon, resulting in a nine-year prison sentence. His lawyer highlighted the detrimental effects of the incident on Allman, his family, and the victims. The defense argued that Allman’s actions were influenced by excessive alcohol consumption and feeling mistreated, leading to a regrettable and impulsive decision to retaliate with a weapon.
Despite acknowledging some provocation, the judge condemned Allman’s actions, emphasizing the severity of the consequences inflicted on the unsuspecting doorman. The court deemed the victim an innocent bystander who suffered due to Allman’s misguided retaliation.
