Pregnant Love Island personality Georgia Harrison has disclosed the strict guidelines she intends to implement while raising her first child with partner Jack Stacey, expected to arrive on November 5.
The 30-year-old, who revealed her pregnancy in April, expressed her decision not to permit her child to own a phone or have access to social media, citing a distressing incident involving her ex-partner Stephen Bear, who was imprisoned for sharing a private video of her without consent.
In light of the trauma she went through following the distressing incident, Georgia articulated her stance on maintaining a technology-free environment at home, emphasizing her commitment to safeguarding her child as much as possible.
“I will strive to educate them to the best of my ability within our household. However, I sincerely hope that by the time my kids reach a certain age, educational systems will play a significant role in this regard,” she stated.
“I also hope that legislation concerning children’s social media usage becomes more stringent, similar to what Australia has been implementing. I firmly believe that delaying access to social media until around 16 years old would create a safer environment for children,” she added.
Speaking to The Sun, Georgia remarked, “In today’s challenging world, unnecessary exposure should be minimized. I resonated with Robbie Williams’ decision to withhold phones from his children as a means to shield them from negative influences. Such measures will not be tolerated in my household.”
Georgia previously outlined additional regulations, such as prohibiting friends and family from kissing her baby after sharing a cautionary post about herpes on Instagram. In the caption, she advised, “To all my friends and family, please understand if I ask you to maintain a distance.”
The Love Island star joyfully announced her pregnancy news in April, expressing her eagerness to start a family sooner rather than later.
“We both had a strong desire for children, and despite some considering it premature, we view this as fantastic news and couldn’t be happier,” she conveyed.
Reflecting on her journey with Jack and the forthcoming baby, Georgia reflected, “If you don’t attend the interview, you won’t land the job, right? Approaching my thirties, I was determined to meet someone. Although initially skeptical about love, Jack’s unwavering support changed my perspective. Now, we are together, living under the same roof, and awaiting our baby! Everything I’ve encountered in the past has led me to this point.”
