“Jack Draper Parts Ways with Coach Trotman, Enlists New Head Coach Delgado”

Jack Draper has parted ways with his coach of four years, James Trotman. During Trotman’s tenure, Draper achieved significant success, securing three ATP Tour titles, including the prestigious Indian Wells, making it to the semi-finals of the 2024 US Open, and rising to the fourth spot in the world rankings.

Despite their successful partnership, Trotman has decided to step back from coaching to prioritize his family commitments. Draper’s 2025 season was cut short due to an arm injury, with the British No.1 only managing to play one official match post-Wimbledon, reaching the second round of the US Open before withdrawing from the competition.

In a recent development, Draper enlisted the expertise of Jamie Delgado, a former coach of Andy Murray and Grigor Dimitrov, just nine days ago. Delgado, who is expected to accompany Draper on most tour stops, was meant to work alongside Trotman in Draper’s team.

However, Trotman, who has young children, feels that he cannot meet the demands of Draper’s world No.9 ranking while also tending to his family responsibilities. Despite his departure as the head coach, Trotman will always be valued as part of the team, with Draper expressing gratitude for his long-standing coach.

Draper is gearing up for his return to competition at the UTS London event in December, with Delgado taking on the role of his head coach. Delgado has an impressive coaching background, having partnered with Murray from May 2016 for five years, during which Murray achieved significant milestones in his career.

Additionally, Delgado spent three years coaching former world No. 3 Dimitrov, aiding him in securing notable achievements before Dimitrov faced a setback at Wimbledon this year due to a heartbreaking injury. Delgado’s experience and expertise make him a valuable addition to Draper’s team.

Draper’s team has also welcomed Shane Annun and Matt Little, former members of Murray’s team, as the British No.1 continues to strengthen his support network. Draper has been diligently training at the National Tennis Centre gym and recently engaged in a short training stint in the Algarve to enhance his performance.

As the upcoming 2025/26 season approaches, Sky has announced a discounted Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle, offering over 1,400 live matches across various leagues, including the Premier League and EFL, providing significant savings to members. Sky will broadcast a minimum of 215 live Premier League matches next season, offering fans an increased number of live games compared to previous seasons.
