A dramatic scene of flash flooding submerged cars, leading to two major flood alerts being issued by officials. Images captured vehicles engulfed by water after heavy rains hit parts of Wales, particularly near Cwmbwrla roundabout in Swansea today.
Following the flooding incident, South Wales Police reported the closure of Cwmbwrla Roundabout due to flooding, diverting traffic to Pentregethin Road. The closure is expected to last until Monday, with authorities urging the public to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
In anticipation of Storm Amy, a significant weather system is forecasted to bring heavy rain and strong winds to various regions, including Bristol, Cardiff, Belfast, and Manchester. The Met Office warned of gusty winds reaching 45-70 mph along coastal areas and hills, gradually subsiding by Monday evening.
Despite the impending weather challenges, conditions are predicted to improve throughout the week. Showers and windy spells are expected to persist until midweek, with a mix of sunshine and showers towards the end of the week, maintaining a cooler atmosphere.
