Following a remission period, the cancer resurfaced in 2020, with doctors giving him a grim prognosis of only two to three more years to live.

Reflecting on his challenging journey, Lundgren mentioned the tough fight he endured for about five years, emphasizing that he has now returned to his usual routine, including regular workouts. Despite toning down the intensity of his exercise regimen, he affirmed that he can still perform all activities as before, albeit with a more mindful approach to self-care.

In a recent social media update, Lundgren expressed gratitude for his loved ones and the newfound perspective his illness brought him. He acknowledged the positive impact of his cancer experience, highlighting how it shifted his priorities and led him to cherish the important people in his life.
