DJ Mark Ronson Reconsiders Relationship with Michael Jackson

Published on

Renowned DJ Mark Ronson has openly discussed reassessing his past association with the late Michael Jackson in light of the allegations against the iconic pop star. Ronson, now 50, first met the King of Pop during his teenage years.

Recalling an evening spent with Michael Jackson in a hotel room when he was just 13, Ronson acknowledged the need to contemplate their interactions following various accusations brought forth by others.

Multiple allegations have surfaced over the years against Jackson, notably from Wade Robson and James Safechuck in the documentary Leaving Neverland 2. The duo has claimed to have been victims of sexual abuse by the pop star during their childhood, leading them to file lawsuits against MJJ Ventures and MJJ Productions, both associated with the Jackson estate, for alleged negligence in protecting them from Jackson.

Despite vehemently denying any allegations of misconduct before his passing in 2009, Jackson’s legacy continues to be clouded by controversy. Ronson has now shared insights into his encounters with the singer, facilitated by Sean Lennon, son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, with whom Ronson attended an afterparty in Jackson’s hotel room alongside around 50 other guests.

In his recent book, Ronson maintains that nothing inappropriate occurred during his time with Jackson, although he acknowledges the peculiar nature of those moments. Excerpts from The Sun reveal Ronson’s account of the after-party, where he described Jackson’s fascination with throwing dampened toilet paper at parked cars, a quirky memory from that night.

Reflecting on the experience, Ronson expressed his ambition even at a young age to derive musical inspiration from Jackson, although that aspiration never materialized. In light of the publicized allegations, Ronson has revisited that particular moment several times, scrutinizing it through a different perspective each time.

“I’ve analyzed that memory countless times,” Ronson commented. “On that night, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.”
