D4vd has decided to halt his tour as authorities launch an inquiry into the tragic death of a teenager. The body of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas was discovered decomposing in the trunk of a Tesla owned by the musician.
Reports suggest that a call was made on Thursday to cancel the final two shows scheduled in the United States. D4vd, aged 20, was originally slated to perform tonight in San Francisco and a subsequent show in Los Angeles on Saturday. Additionally, he is expected to skip a gathering at the Grammy Museum in Downtown Los Angeles next Wednesday to celebrate his album, Withered.
A spokesperson confirmed that D4vd is cooperating with law enforcement during their investigation. The singer’s representative stated, “D4vd is aware of the situation and is actively assisting the authorities despite being on tour.”
According to the LAPD, a search warrant was executed on September 17, 2025, at an address on Doheny Place concerning the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Various pieces of evidence were seized and will undergo analysis in the forthcoming days.
Celeste, who went missing from Lake Elsinor, California, in April 2024, was identified in the vehicle’s trunk, which was linked to D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke. The car, registered in Texas, was towed from the Hollywood Hills area after being abandoned for five days.
The mother of the victim expressed her belief that the body was that of her daughter based on the description provided by the police, including a tattoo on her finger that read “Shh…” and her attire. In an interview with TMZ, Celeste’s mother mentioned that the teenager had once dated an individual named David.
The Sun reported that a song named Celeste, credited to D4vd, was released on SoundCloud in 2023. Notably, the musician shares a similar tattoo with several other prominent figures.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner disclosed that the body was clad in a tube top and black leggings and was severely decomposed, making identification challenging. The body, wrapped in plastic, was in a deteriorated state.
While the cause of death remains undisclosed, the Los Angeles Police Department categorizes the investigation as a routine death examination.
In a statement to People Magazine on September 18, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department revealed that detectives from the Robbery-Homicide Division had executed a search warrant at a local residence in connection with Celeste’s demise.
An LAPD spokesperson further conveyed, “Several pieces of evidence were confiscated and will be scrutinized by detectives in the upcoming days. Investigators are pursuing multiple leads.”
In an earlier statement to The Mirror US, LAPD mentioned an incident on 9/8/25 where officers discovered potential human remains emanating from a vehicle at a tow yard on Mansfield Avenue. The case is currently under investigation as a death inquiry.
“We have confirmed the presence of human remains inside a vehicle,” Chief of Detectives for LAPD Alan Hamilton previously stated. He added, “Our investigation will continue, and if it suggests a possible homicide, it will transition into a homicide investigation.”
The Mirror has reached out to D4vd’s representative for further comments.
