A tragic incident occurred at Play2Day in Martlesham, Suffolk, where a man named David Linyard lost his life after falling through a skylight on the roof while working as a contractor back in June. He succumbed to his injuries at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. The play center had been closed to children during the maintenance activities.

The center’s spokeswoman expressed condolences, stating, “We received the heartbreaking news from Mr. David Linyard’s family regarding his passing due to injuries sustained in an accident while performing routine maintenance on the roof of our Play2Day children’s play center in Martlesham Heath, Ipswich. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.”

Suffolk Police confirmed the man’s passing, indicating that the coroner was informed, and a collaborative investigation involving Suffolk Police, East Suffolk Council, and the Health & Safety Executive is ongoing.

The incident is under investigation by the police, along with the Health and Safety Executive and East Suffolk District Council.
