Conservative Member of Parliament Larry Brock has announced his intention to step down from his position in the House of Commons next month. Brock, who represents the Brantford—Brant South—Six Nations riding in Ontario, was elected to Parliament in both the 2021 and 2025 federal elections. Prior to his political career, Brock worked as an assistant Crown attorney.

In a letter shared on social media, Brock revealed that he has accepted a new opportunity to rejoin the Brantford Crown Attorney’s office, emphasizing his commitment to frontline justice. His resignation is scheduled to take effect on September 18, as stated in the announcement letter.

Following the news of Brock’s departure, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre expressed gratitude for Brock’s service as an MP. Poilievre extended well wishes to Brock and his family for success and happiness in the future in a brief message posted on the platform X.

Despite the Conservative Party securing the second-highest number of seats in the 2025 federal election, several MPs, including Brock, have departed from the party’s federal caucus. Notably, four Conservative MPs crossed the floor to join the governing Liberals: Chris d’Entremont, Michael Ma, Matt Jeneroux, and Marilyn Gladu. Additionally, Richard Martel, the former MP for Chicoutimi—Le Fjord in Quebec, was recently appointed to the Senate by Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Another Conservative MP, Cathay Wagantall, who has served since 2015, is also set to resign from her seat representing Yorkton—Melville in Saskatchewan, with her resignation effective as of August 31.
