During this festive season, many people are accustomed to purchasing tins of chocolates to share with loved ones or enjoy themselves. However, the prices of popular chocolate brands have seen a significant increase.
A recent visit to the supermarket left shoppers astonished at the cost of Cadbury Roses and Heroes tins, priced at £16.50 for each 700g tin. While a discounted rate of £10 is available for Nectar cardholders, the overall expense remains relatively high.
For those seeking more budget-friendly options, Sainsbury’s offers alternatives such as Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Mixed Chunks Tin (60g) at £9.59 or £6.50 with a Nectar card, and a 750g tin of Quality Street at £13 or £8.50 with Nectar. Additionally, tubs of Celebrations, Heroes, and Quality Street are priced at just £6 each.
For better deals, Tesco presents a competitive offer with 500-550g Celebrations and Quality Street tubs priced at £3.95 with a Clubcard, reduced from the normal price of £4.50. Moreover, the Heroes tin, available at £7.50 with a Clubcard in Tesco, is a more cost-effective option compared to Sainsbury’s pricing.
Recent findings have revealed that Asda offers standard tubs of Heroes, Roses, and Celebrations for under £5, while Morrisons sells them for £7 (or £5.50 with a Morrisons More Card). Tesco continues to provide affordable options with Celebrations and Quality Street tubs priced at £3.95 with a Clubcard, and Roses and Heroes at £7 (or £5.25 with a Clubcard). Aldi and Lidl also keep prices under £5 for their chocolate tubs.
Although Marks and Spencer and Waitrose do not stock traditional tubs online, they offer smaller pouch-sized packets and alternative festive chocolates ranging from approximately £4 to £10.
