Black Sheep, a coffee chain based in the UK, has unveiled its festive Christmas menu. I had the opportunity to attend a special wreath-making event to preview the menu in advance. Known for its high-quality Robusta coffee, Black Sheep introduced its Christmas menu on November 5, featuring a variety of bold flavors and both warm and cold delights.
During the event, I sampled the new offerings, which presented unique twists on traditional holiday favorites. One standout drink for me was the Mint White Chocolate Chip Matcha, particularly the iced version. Described by Black Sheep as a blend of fresh mint and creamy white chocolate with a festive touch of matcha, this beverage stood out for its smooth and slightly cheeky flavor profile.
Although I am not a huge fan of matcha, I found this version to be pleasantly sweet without being overpowering, effectively balancing the matcha’s bitterness. The Mint White Chocolate Chip Matcha reminded me of a Grasshopper cocktail, a mint-flavored after-dinner drink, which further enhanced my enjoyment of it.
Another highlight was the Gingerbread Latte, which instantly put me in the holiday spirit. This classic Christmas drink, available in both hot and iced variations, combines warming spices and sweet gingerbread syrup with velvety espresso for a nostalgic winter treat. The excellent coffee quality from Black Sheep shone through in this beverage, with perfectly balanced spice and sweetness levels, complemented by a dollop of whipped cream for added indulgence.
We also had the opportunity to try the Fuji Apple, Ginger & Caramel Red Bull Infusion, a surprising addition launched for bonfire night. This unique concoction melds juicy Fuji apple, fiery ginger, and sweet caramel with Red Bull, creating a refreshing drink perfect for powering through the holiday chaos.
In addition to the drinks, we sampled the Pigs in Blanket Ciabatta and the Brie & Cranberry Toastie, both offering classic holiday flavors in sandwich form. While enjoyable, these items felt fairly standard for a coffee chain menu. However, the standout beverages definitely stole the show for me, and I look forward to revisiting Black Sheep for more of their delightful Christmas drinks.
