Apple has had a busy week unveiling a range of new products, including the iPhone 17e, upgraded iPad Air, and new MacBook Pro models with M5 processors. The latest addition to their lineup is the MacBook Neo, offering a colorful design, impressive performance, and a 13-inch screen for just £599 – making it the most affordable MacBook yet.
Priced £500 lower than the latest MacBook Air, the MacBook Neo is powered by Apple’s A18 Pro-series smartphone processor. While not as fast as M-powered PCs, it is capable of meeting everyday digital needs, running macOS and providing access to popular applications like Microsoft Word and iMovie.
With over 15 hours of battery life, the MacBook Neo is highly efficient. It features two USB-C ports but lacks MagSafe charging. Additionally, it boasts a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, Touch ID fingerprint scanner, dual side-firing speakers with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos support, a Magic Keyboard, and Multi-Touch trackpad.
Available for pre-order now, the MacBook Neo comes in Silver, Indigo, Blush, and Citrus colors and will be in stores next week. John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, expressed excitement about the new product, emphasizing its affordability and unique features, stating that it is a laptop only Apple could create.
