Following the ceremony, he will witness the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast, typically featuring an Avro Lancaster heavy bomber, a Supermarine Spitfire, and a Hawker Hurricane.
Reflecting on the occasion, Mr. Starmer expressed gratitude for the heroes of the Battle of Britain who defended the nation’s skies, freedoms, and future against overwhelming odds. He underscored their bravery as a symbol of national unity and determination, emphasizing the enduring values of duty, sacrifice, and solidarity that unite Britain.
The event will bring together various dignitaries, including the Dean of Westminster, Squadron Leader Charlie Warden, His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Greater London, and the Chief of the Air Staff. Marshal of the Royal Air Force, The Lord Craig, the sole surviving five-star officer in the British Armed Forces on active duty, will also be present.
